Students rowing success

On Friday 3 March, students from Dixons Broadgreen and Dixons Trinity Chapeltown attended the National Junior Indoor Rowing Competition (NJIRC) at the Copper Box Arena in the Olympic Park, London. Over 2,000 students took part, representing over a hundred rowing clubs from hundreds of schools.

Dixons Broadgreen students have been training for this event at Liverpool Victoria Rowing club and also in school when possible. The highlight of the day was seeing Adeola Aileru finish 2nd in her heat and 26th overall in the country for her age group. Hugely impressive given that the team started rowing only 8 weeks ago!

Dixons Trinity Chapeltown's Key Stage 3 boys won their heat in the sprint relay and placed 4th overall! Amazing work!
